ALRIGHT, so I wanted to start by saying that I LOVED City of Glass, HOWEVER; I wasn't a fan of City of Bones ( I don't think many people were) this one to me was more like City of Bones. I really could have done without it. I was happy to see that Cassandra Clare continued the series, I just wish it had the awesomeness that COG had. The relationship between Clary and Jace didn't seem to develop anymore from the last book, it actually seemed to take a step back. While reading this I felt that this book is just a filler for the rest of the story. The important stuff in this book took up MAYBE 50 pages, the rest was just filler. If you are looking for action in this book, there is definitely not much.

There were quite a few things that I did like bout this book. I liked that the villain was somebody different, I had a feeling that Valentine was gonna come back as a demon or something (thank goodness he didn't). Of course just simply because it's part of The Mortal Instruments series. There were a few plot twist that I didn't see coming, part of it being the things with Simon.

• There was WAY to much Simon in this book ( I know it was told before the book even came out that there was gonna be more Simon, but I didn't think it was gonna be that much). I honestly didn't care what happened with him, and how his life turned out. I did understand why he was in the book so much and why he was important to the story line. Simon as a character was..I don't even know how to explain him. He was a lying, cheating, no good SOB. He shoulda gotten it a lot worse then he did. I can't believe that Miss. Clare let him off the hook like he was.
• Now to the two characters I wanted to know the most about. Clary in this book seemed different then she did in the other three, she didn't seem as hard headed. She did seem a bit more whiny then normal (that seems to be my favorite word). She's training to be a shadow hunter, but doesn't seem to take it seriously.
• Jace was VERY bi-polar like in this one; but he did have kind of the same quality in the other one. One minute he would be so in love with Clary then the next he wouldn't want anything to do with her. You do find out later in the book why this is, but it is kind of annoying when you're reading. I wanted to scream at him at the end of the book, I know he didn't have a choice of what happened but !!!!!.
• In my opinion there was not enough Magnus, he added such a "flair" to the first three books but that wasn't in this one. Him and Alex finally show up about 200 pages in, and then don't have that much page time. There whole "page time" is pretty much taken up by Alex throwing a fit, like a two year old (or a teenage girl).

Of course if you've read the other three, you should read this one. If you are satisfied with the way COG ended you could just stop there.

The Lying Game is the first book in a new series by Sara Shepard. I have read Pretty Little Liars and I do like them better (so far).

It starts with this girl named Sutton, who doesn't know she's dead. She meets her long lost twin, Emma, only Emma doesn't know she's there because Sutton's a ghost. So Emma learns about Sutton and wants to go visit her, she finds her on Facebook and messages her. She ends up out there, only to find Sutton missing and a threatening note that says she has to play the role of Sutton or she'll end up like her.

Since you didn't learn much about Sutton as a present character, there's not much I could say that's bad about her. Emma of course didn't get to develop as her own character since she had to play the part of Sutton for most of the book; however you do learn a little bit about her in the beginning of the book. Sutton's friends I found very annoying (but that was the way they were suppose to be).

The story overall was a good, however it did have some parts that I didn't like; which is why it got a 3/5.  The second book is call Never Have I Ever and it is due out August 2nd.

I finished this book in a day and half, I woulda finished it in a day but I had to sleep or I was gonna pass out!

Some things could have been different but overall I enjoyed this book. The biggest problem I had was with the ending.

 

The story starts off with Rebecca from New York, who gets sent to live with her "aunt" and "cousin" in New Orleans; while her dad is in China on business.  Of course she is not accepted because the section that her aunt lives in is "old money". 

 

I felt like there was some missing out of this book, Rebecca never makes a friend other than the ghost.  She

gets pulled in way to easily to be in the parade. There were some flaws in the book; however it was a decent book. So for that it gets

I really need to stop having my hopes up for a book just based on the cover.

Swoon is about a girl named Candice, Dice, who moves to Connecticut and is left alone all the time by her parents.  Her aunt and cousin live across the road from her, and are the ones who look after her.  Her cousin's name is Penelope or Penn as everyone calls her.  She is older than Dice and dresses way different than her.

One day Dice notices something is wrong with her cousin, she starts acting different and tries to kill a boy. Dice knows she must do something before the "spirit" inside her cousin takes over completely. Of course this leads to a huge thing that almost destroys the town.

I gave Swoon 2/5 stars, because it really wasn't that great.  The whole story was kinda boring, although it sounded really cool. The plot was very slow moving, and the characters were very sex centered; which was my biggest problem with the book.

I might have actually liked this book if there were more to the characters than just sex. Even though Penn was possessed, all she was concerned about was having sex. Dice couldn't help but think about having sex with the 'spirit" that possessed Penn. That was most of what the main characters were all about.  When the story finally got to something more than sex, it was very boring!

This is the second installment of Ethan Wate and Lena Duchannes.  The book starts off where the first one left off, Lena is still unclaimed; but she knows she has to claim herself. However, there is this new guy in town that is hanging, John Breed, around and Ridley is back in town; and that always means TROUBLE.  Ethan soon learns what being with and "unclaimed" confused Caster means.  Lena has a major decision to make and it will affect everyone.

Obviously the second book in MOST series is not as good as the first.  This one follows that suit.  It's not that I didn't care for this one, it's just that I didn't feel like a lot was explained.  It seemed like there was some information that we could have been given that we weren't.  There were "action" scenes that did not have the right amount of action.  Especially one particular scene near the end (Gosh, I wanna rant about it SO bad; but I don't wanna spoil it for anybody!)

In Beautiful Darkness, Ethan seems to be the same boy that he was in the first one.  He grows and develops his own traits and characteristics in this book.  He also receives his own destiny! Lena got on my nerves in this book, she was also kind of annoying the last book to; but she was VERY annoying in this one.  I like that there was more of Link and Ridley; I didn't like how they handled things at the end! 

I thought the plot in this book flowed better than Beautiful Creatures. I did like that there was actually traveling. The "action" scene at the end was kind of annoying.  It was the one thing you were waiting for the WHOLE book and it was a let down.

The third book in the Caster Chronicle series will be released sometime next year and is currently Untitled.

I gave this book 4/5 because there were some slow parts, that I felt could have been shortened. Other than that I really enjoyed the book

Ethan sees this girl that everyone is calling "Ravenwoods niece" at school and fell head over heels as soon as he saw her. He soon learns that there is a lot more underneath her black clothes and green eyes.

The plot of the book was very interesting, however; after you learn about the locket they find and who it belongs to, I saw the story going a different way. I kinda wished the writer would have included more of the past in with the ending. There were some parts that included Ethan's aunts that I felt could have been shortened. Although there were other parts I would have liked to read more about.

The characters were developed and not to whiny. I did find Lena a bit whiny, but she kinda had a reason to be. I think they should have went more into the other characters, like Genvieve or the other Ethan.
So it was a pretty good book, although there were some parts that could have been better.

Sisters Red by Jackson Pearce REVIEW

Sorry it took so long for this review :(

Scarlette and Rosie are sisters. When they were younger they got attacked by a Fenris (werewolf), and the attack left Scarlette covered in horible scares (except over her heart). During the attack their grandma, Oma March, was killed by the Fenris.

They lived by theirselves, leaving Scarlette to raise Rosie by herself since their mother ran off. They now have to spend the rest of their lives hunting down the Fenris and making sure no one gets killed agian because of them.

The Fenris population is increasing and the girls, plus Silas (there family friend) must go to Atlanta to hunt. They then learn about "The Potential", a fledling Fenris. Now they must save the boy and protect themselves.

So, I rate this book 4.5/5. I didn't find the characters whiny at all (which was nice). I really liked Rosie's character, she was strong and independent. Scarlette is a very strong female character, she saved her sister from the attack. Silas is also a strong male character, he is the youngest of nine children.

The writing was very easy to read and understand. I actually enjoyed the writing style. I was glad to read something that had a writing style that was the way we talk, not something that included a lot of sarcasm that people hardly ever use.

I definitly recommend this book to anyone who is looking for a good romance, werewolf, or a book with strong female characters!

Told yall it would be up this week!

I do want to say that I feel this series is going to be the same as The Mortal Instruments Series. I liked the second & third more than the first. That being said let's get on with the reivew!

The book starts off with a girl, Tessa, and her brother, Will, they go through some of their mother's things and find an angel, that becomes very important WAY later on in the story. The boy moves from New York to England, then after their aunt dies, he sends his Tessa a ticket to come like with him..blah, blah, blah. Just read it, you'll get the whole story!

SO, this book seemed like it was going to be like City of Bones but with different names, some stories are like that, but after getting more and more into the book it did, thankfully, get a lot different than City of Bones. I DID LIKE THE BOOK. That being said, it could have done without some of the content that was in it. There were many parts that dragged on and on. However, I do like that she didn't just get right into it, if that makes any sense. The book is 460ish pages and not a lot happens. City of Bones is smaller and a lot more happens, action wise.

I didn't fall in love with Tessa, I did feel like she was just A LITTLE bit whiny although she got better as the story went on. I think she should have been a little more of a stronger female character. Also, I felt like Ms. Clare started Tessa and Jem's relationship off as a brother sister relationship, then tried to turn it into a love relationship. Did anyone else get that? I felt like Will reminded me WAY to much of Jace.

The time that the book was set in was kind of confusing. I know it was set when there were carriages and women were looked at like they couldn't fend for themselves, but the talking was kind of a mix of now and then. I'm not saying it should have been completly in old English, cause there would have been NO WAY I coulda understood that, but I think it should have been more clear.

Clockwork Angel by Cassandra Clare gets a ***.5/5 from me!

So I'm being generous with the stars, it should really have about 2.5. At first I was excitied that this one was going to be more like the first one, but it didn't turn out that way. To me the story was the same thing it was in the last book but with Haven now an Immortal instead of human.

Ever was kind of whiny in this book, she whined about being attracted to Roman; because of something that was her fault. She lied to Damen, who wasn't really a main character in this book. Then there was Haven, who was just down right mean. Why would she trust her boyfriend over her friend? Jude, the guy who also wants Ever, seemed like a different character. He learned about his past and now he wants Ever; although she tells him she doesn't love him a few times.

The action in this book moved WAY to fast. One minute Ever's sitting there and the next something REALLY important happens...there's no leading up to it. It ust happens. Then the end. OH MY GOSH! I didn't expect what happened to happen; however, I would have liked a lot more leading up to it. It just happened and that was it!
I haven't given up all hope though Night Star comes out Winter this year, so we'll see how that one turns out!

Coraline by Neil Gaimen Review

Coraline is a little girl that is alwasy getting called "Caroline" by the people she lives around. Her family moves to a big house that has been turned into four different appartments. In the basement two old actresses live, and in the attic is a man who is claiming to train mice to be circus preformers.

One day when Coraline is exploring she find a door that is locked, when she ask her mother about she says it goes to the other loft that no one lives in. But Coraline is presistant so her mother gives her the key to explore. At first she finds the door is blocked up with bricks, then she goes to bed and the door opens and reveals a long hallway.
Little does she know what's at the end could change the rest of her life.

Coraline is a children's horror story, however I do think it is a little to much for children. The drawings are really good, they are what I pictured the characters to be. The only thing I had is that there were parts where they sounded, especially Coraline, talked like she was English or something. I think the setting should have been more clear, but this was a good book!

The characters were not developed, except for Jacob. I was really looking forward to reading about Andrea, but she never had anything really revealing told about her. She woulda been an amazing character, and so would David..but it just didn't happen. Andrea was suppose to be this awsome, wild child who sells pot to little kids...but it just this sad person who isn't interesting at all. Jacob's mother, Beans, was put in a very bad sistuation and it never really got said, other than she was getting better, how she ended up.

The plot, or lack of, was SUPER boring. It really had no action at all in it. The part where David wants to burn the place down doesn't happen until the end of the book and it's maybe a page long, and nothing happens!

The book as a whole was not good, there was A LOT of cussing and talking about sex.

So this book gets *.5/5 Stars

Looking for Alaska by John Green: REVIEW

Sorry it's taken me soo long to post this, i just haven't had the time.

Looking for Alaska by John Green gets a 3/5.

The characters in this book were, to me, not very developed. All the people seemed kinda whiny and Alaska Young didn't seem like the strong character she was meant to be. I really couldn't stand "The Colonel" who seemed like everything was the end of the world. Pudge's character seemed to be really whiny, and he didn't really go through a transition fase of being at home then being there. (Who would really wanna spend their school year at boarding school?)

The plot was okay, I didn't expect the twist that happened to happen. I did like the setting, although they did whine to much about the weather.

Sophie gets sent to Hectate "Hex" Hall as punishment for using her powers in the open. She meets some people who turn out to be friends and some who turn out to enemies. When weird things start happening, she has to figure out what's going on before something very bad happens.

The characters were pretty well developed in this book. Sophie was kind of annoying during the story. I really liked Jenna's character, she took being an out casted vampire very well. I even kind of felt sorry for Elodie, the mean girl; she had things happen that no one should have to go through.

I thought it was very well written, and the jokes in the book were also well written. The plot was very well executed. Also, I didn't feel disappointed at the end!

This is absolutely **** star book!

Beastly is a modern spin on Beauty and the Beast. I honestly read this book because I saw the previews for the movie that comes out March of next year (movie trailer at the bottom).

I have to say I really liked this book. It put a really good spin on an old fairytale.

Kyle is the main character and he is a general "mean" guy, he's really good looking, has money, his father is a anchor man, but he's very mean to other people.

A witch turns him into a beast and tells him he has to find love in two years or he's doomed to stay like that forever.

The characters I felt weren't as well written as they could have been, I didn't really feel completely connected to Kyle. The person I couldn't stand the most was Sloane; not only did I not know how to pronounce her name, which happens a lot, but she was so whiny and hoey: I know she's suppose to be. Also, Lindy was kinda mopey and depressing, but I did end up liking her.

The setting was very well describe, I fell in love with the house his father made him move to; I wanted to live there myself. But I felt like I could see the city and smell the smells.

This is a nice modern day spin on a classic fairy tale. So it respectfully deserves **** stars!

So I'm back tracking trying to get my reviews up and get this blog up and going. I'm looking at all my reviews from goodreads and putting them on here!
So I actually read this book in January of this year, but I thought I'd post this review for y'all.

But soon, they become a terrifying reality when she begins to suspect that her timid younger brother might be one of their victims."

Reggie is a teenage girl who finds a journal that talks about these things called Vours, and they come out to feast on people's worst nightmares. She reads them to her brother as a bed time story then weird things start happening. Can Reggie stop these things from happening before she loses everything she loves?

The characters were well written and they each developed in their own time and at their own pace, I can't stand when a character finds out everything at one time. I loved that Reggie was strong and independent, she wasn't whiny and didn't complain about everything.

The setting was a good setting, it was a little hard to get a grasp on at first but it soon became very clear where it took place and when. I felt like I was in the places that the characters were in, and they were very creepy places.

I was scared the whole night after I read this! It's very uncommon to find a YA book that is this good.

Shiver by Maggie S. Review

5/5 STARS! I absolutely LOVE this book. It does get kinda slow during some parts, but there's a love scene that makes up for that..lol. If you're team Jacob (I'm not) you might LOVE this book also. The writing was great, the plot was great, the characters were well developed, and it left you wanting MORE..so I will DEFINITELY be reading LINGER (more at the bottom!).

Shiver has two narrators, Sam and Grace.

Grace was a little girl who got attacked by wolves, or so she thought they were just wolves, outside on the tire swing. Since then she has watched the wolves every winter and can't seem to figure out why they disappear in the summer.

Sam watches Grace from the shadows of the forest during the cold winter, but in the summer he can be close to her, even if she doesn't know who he is.

For six years they watch each other from a far, until one day Grace comes home and there is a man whose been shot on her porch. It doesn't take her long to realize that this is "her" wolf. Sam explains himself in the hospital, & since werewolves heal faster they have to leave before anyone notices. The months are getting colder, and Sam feels this is his last year that he will become human. Grace and Sam spend the summer together, and try to find a cure....but there is a teenager that Grace knows, that also got attacked by the wolf. He however did turn into a wolf.

Sam and Grace face many trials to be together, so do they end up together?? Read the book and find out!

The second book in the series is called LINGER. It's due out July 20,2010! I can not wait!
