In it, a mysterious someone’s killing the Shadowhunters who used to be in Valentine’s Circle and displaying their bodies around New York City in a manner designed to provoke hostility between Downworlders and Shadowhunters, leaving tensions running high in the city and disrupting Clary’s plan to lead as normal a life as she can — training to be a Shadowhunter, and pursuing her relationship with Jace. As Jace and Clary delve into the issue of the murdered Shadowhunters, they discover a mystery that has deeply personal consequences for them — consequences that may strengthen their relationship, or rip it apart forever. <br />
Meanwhile, internecine warfare among vampires is tearing the Downworld community apart, and only Simon — the Daylighter who everyone wants on their side — can decide the outcome; too bad he wants nothing to do with Downworld politics. Love, blood, betrayal and revenge: the stakes are higher than ever in City of Fallen Angels."</span></span></div><div style="text-align: center;"><span style="color: #cc0000; font-size: xx-small;"> from goodreads.com</span></div>3.5/5 <br />
<br />
ALRIGHT, so I wanted to start by saying that I LOVED City of Glass, HOWEVER; I wasn't a fan of City of Bones ( I don't think many people were) this one to me was more like City of Bones. I really could have done without it. I was happy to see that Cassandra Clare continued the series, I just wish it had the awesomeness that COG had. The relationship between Clary and Jace didn't seem to develop anymore from the last book, it actually seemed to take a step back. While reading this I felt that this book is just a filler for the rest of the story. The important stuff in this book took up MAYBE 50 pages, the rest was just filler. If you are looking for action in this book, there is definitely not much. <br />
<br />
There were quite a few things that I did like bout this book. I liked that the villain was somebody different, I had a feeling that Valentine was gonna come back as a demon or something (thank goodness he didn't). Of course just simply because it's part of The Mortal Instruments series. There were a few plot twist that I didn't see coming, part of it being the things with Simon. <br />
<br />
<ul><li>There was WAY to much Simon in this book ( I know it was told before the book even came out that there was gonna be more Simon, but I didn't think it was gonna be that much). I honestly didn't care what happened with him, and how his life turned out. I did understand why he was in the book so much and why he was important to the story line. Simon as a character was..I don't even know how to explain him. He was a lying, cheating, no good SOB. He shoulda gotten it a lot worse then he did. I can't believe that Miss. Clare let him off the hook like he was.</li>
<li>Now to the two characters I wanted to know the most about. Clary in this book seemed different then she did in the other three, she didn't seem as hard headed. She did seem a bit more whiny then normal (that seems to be my favorite word). She's training to be a shadow hunter, but doesn't seem to take it seriously. </li>
<li>Jace was VERY bi-polar like in this one; but he did have kind of the same quality in the other one. One minute he would be so in love with Clary then the next he wouldn't want anything to do with her. You do find out later in the book why this is, but it is kind of annoying when you're reading. I wanted to scream at him at the end of the book, I know he didn't have a choice of what happened but !!!!!.</li>
<li>In my opinion there was not enough Magnus, he added such a "flair" to the first three books but that wasn't in this one. Him and Alex finally show up about 200 pages in, and then don't have that much page time. There whole "page time" is pretty much taken up by Alex throwing a fit, like a two year old (or a teenage girl). </li>
</ul><br />
Of course if you've read the other three, you should read this one. If you are satisfied with the way COG ended you could just stop there.Nikkihttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15900402595687294630noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8264520371836716476.post-82372325349131105202011-06-19T19:38:00.000-07:002011-06-19T20:10:57.792-07:00Across the Universe Review<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-5uQ6Nkb1tZo/Tf6yGBs2RKI/AAAAAAAAAEo/sPvM5sQWtBw/s1600/8235178.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-5uQ6Nkb1tZo/Tf6yGBs2RKI/AAAAAAAAAEo/sPvM5sQWtBw/s320/8235178.jpg" width="208" /></a></div><div style="text-align: center;"> <span style="font-size: x-small;"><span style="color: orange;">"Seventeen-year-old Amy joins her parents as frozen cargo aboard the vast spaceship Godspeed and expects to awaken on a new planet, three hundred years in the future. <br />
<br />
Okay, so I read this in two days; but I did it for a read-a-thon I was part of. If it hadn't been for that then I probably wouldn't have even finished this book. I'm not gonna say it was boring, because it wasn't. There was just something about it that I didn't like. <br />
<br />
After the first chapter pretty much the only parts I enjoyed were the chapters with Amy. It took 100 pages, and LONG 100 pages, for her to be unfrozen and part of the "world" they were living in. <br />
<br />
As for the characters; I thought Harley and Elder were both annoying. Amy also got on my nerves, however not as bad as the other two did. I didn't think Elder would go along with Eldest as long as he did, and I didn't think Harley would be that whiny at the end.<br />
<br />
I just thought the book was gonna go a different way and I probably would have rather seen it gone a different way; but none the less it was an okay read.<br />

<div style="background-color: #f4cccc;"><span style="font-size: large;"><span style="font-size: small;"> When the woman came in the shaman started to inspect the goat. He then went back into his office and zapped the lime with a newly acquired laser gun, it was left by a man who traveled back in time to see him. He feed the lime to the goat, and instantly the goat's horn grew twice the size they'd ever been.</span></span></div><span style="font-size: large;"><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="background-color: #f4cccc;"> The woman was very pleased so she paid the man. Beautiful yet self-effacing, Katie seems determined to avoid forming personal ties until a series of events draws her into two reluctant relationships: one with Alex, a widowed store owner with a kind heart and two young children; and another with her plainspoken single neighbor, Jo. Despite her reservations, Katie slowly begins to let down her guard, putting down roots in the close-knit community and becoming increasingly attached to Alex and his family."</span></span><br />
<div style="text-align: center;"><span id="freeText6984836768829381573"><span style="font-size: x-small;">goodreads.com </span></span></div><br />
I gave this a 2.5. I REALLY wanted to enjoy this book, but it was boring! <br />
<br />
I live in a small town, so I know that small event (fairs, carnivals, etc.) but they don't need to be described in every detail. Most of the book is written to describe the everyday life of these people in a small town; which isn't that interesting. The only part I found to be exciting is when Katie's ex-husband came to town to find her. <br />
<br />
Katie is in an abusive relationship with a man named Kevin, she FINALLY gets the nerves to leave him and flees to a small coastal town in North Carolina. She meets this store owner named Alex, who has two children, and of course she galls in love with him; but she doesn't want to admit it to herself. Katie's afraid that Kevin is always on the lookout for her. <br />
<br />
When Katie finally admits to herself that she loves Alex, all heck breaks loose. <br />
<br />
It sounds like it should be AMAZING! However, the plot takes forever to get to a point where I would say that it's worth reading. You could probably skip a few chapters and still know what was going on in the book.<br />

<br />
I think my last post was in January. WELL for all of January and most of February I was really sick; I'll spare y'all from the details but yes VERY sick. So after I got "better" I couldn't get back into reading, but I am now back into and I'm promise to try my hardest to make more blog post. I have already made a few videos (check out my channel <a href="http://www.youtube.com/sng2098">here</a>). So yes I'm back! <br />
<br />
<br />
Love y'all<br />

<br />
The Lying Game is the first book in a new series by Sara Shepard. I have read Pretty Little Liars and I do like them better (so far).<br />
<br />
It starts with this girl named Sutton, who doesn't know she's dead. She meets her long lost twin, Emma, only Emma doesn't know she's there because Sutton's a ghost. So Emma learns about Sutton and wants to go visit her, she finds her on Facebook and messages her. She ends up out there, only to find Sutton missing and a threatening note that says she has to play the role of Sutton or she'll end up like her.<br />
<br />
Since you didn't learn much about Sutton as a present character, there's not much I could say that's bad about her. Emma of course didn't get to develop as her own character since she had to play the part of Sutton for most of the book; however you do learn a little bit about her in the beginning of the book. Sutton's friends I found very annoying (but that was the way they were suppose to be). <br />
<br />
The story overall was a good, however it did have some parts that I didn't like; which is why it got a 3/5. The second book is call Never Have I Ever and it is due out August 2nd.Nikkihttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15900402595687294630noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8264520371836716476.post-24508153262999148502011-01-24T16:51:00.000-08:002011-01-24T17:31:54.009-08:00Crescendo by Becca Fitzpatrick<div style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://s234.photobucket.com/albums/ee35/nng_2009/?action=view&current=crescendo.jpg" target="_blank"><img alt="Photobucket" border="0" height="400" src="http://i234.photobucket.com/albums/ee35/nng_2009/crescendo.jpg" width="262" /></a></div><div style="text-align: center;"><span style="font-size: x-small;">"<span class="reviewText" id="freeText948261317063935889">Nora Grey's life is still far from perfect. Nora would have hardly noticed Scott Parnell, an old family friend who has moved back to town, if Path hadnt been acting so distant. <br />
I'm not trying to be mean but when you read this right after Torment the stories kind of run together. <br />
<br />
Nora and Patch at the beginning are cool and in love, but then something happens and Nora gets all whiny and jealous *It's her fault that it happened*. So her Patch end up breaking up *gasp* and he starts to see more of Nora's arch nemesis Marcie Miller! And Vee gets a boyfriend, YAY! (for the first couple hundred pages). Of course something happens and turns the whole story around.<br />
<br />
Nora did kind of get on my nerves in this one. After they broke up she did become annoying, but I'm glad she didn't go into a deep depression and didn't leave her room for weeks. At least she was somewhat strong or stupid, which ever you'd like to use. <br />
Patch got on my nerves also, he shoulda just told her what was going on!<br />
Vee was probably my favorite in this book. I was so excited that she got a boyfriend until the end :(. <br />
<br />
The ending was a surprise, I really didn't expect what happened to happen; which is the way it's suppose to be right? Anyways, this was a pretty good book!Nikkihttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15900402595687294630noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8264520371836716476.post-62001382073580160022011-01-24T16:20:00.000-08:002011-01-24T16:21:21.256-08:00Torment by Lauren Kate Review<div style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://s234.photobucket.com/albums/ee35/nng_2009/?action=view&current=TORMENT.jpg" target="_blank"><img alt="Photobucket" border="0" src="http://i234.photobucket.com/albums/ee35/nng_2009/TORMENT.jpg" /></a></div><div style="text-align: center;"><span style="font-size: x-small;">"Hell on earth. <div style="text-align: left;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: left;">Alright! So I figured since I have nothing else to do and I'm a terrible blogger I oughta make it up to y'all with some new reviews.</div><div style="text-align: left;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: left;">First let me say that I wasn't that impressed with Fallen, the first book in the series, so I knew right off the bat that this wasn't going to be the best book ever; however I had to read it so I could find out what happens. </div><div style="text-align: left;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: left;">So in this book Daniel and Cam have some kind of agreement that they won't be enemies for so many days, I believe that it was 15, so they can both look after Luce; who they have moved to a new school in Fort Bragg, CA. The name of the new school is Shoreline and it is also a boarding school, but some of the students here are in special classes being taught by a demon and angel couple! Luce makes new friends, Shelby and a boy whose name I can't remember; and her an Daniel get in this big fight. So during the whole book you're reading about Luce trying to figure out Daniel and learning about her new friends. She also learns many new things about the "shadows".</div><div style="text-align: left;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: left;">I thought the characters in this book were so whiny and self absorbed I almost gave up on reading it! Luce, like in the last book, was so annoying; everything had to be about her and what she was going through. After only a couple days at the new school she was going off campus, which she was told not to do because there were things that wanted to kill her. We can't forget to mention Daniel. He was super controlling in this book, if Luce didn't do exactly what he said he threw a huge hissy fit. Shelby, Luce's roommate, seemed almost bi-polar. One minute she was fine with Luce and Daniel, then the next she couldn't stand to look at him (I realize she had a reason, but I wish that was told at the start!).</div><div style="text-align: left;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: left;">The ending did come as a surprise, but I felt like it was a stupid ending. Who would do that? I know she wants to know more about her past, but why risk your life to learn about it?</div><div style="text-align: left;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: left;">Passion the 3rd book in the series comes out June 14th 2011 and the 4th book Rapture comes out sometime in 2012.</div>Nikkihttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15900402595687294630noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8264520371836716476.post-10388905224258582122011-01-05T20:18:00.000-08:002011-01-05T20:18:42.463-08:00Ruined by Paula Morris Review<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/__t4p4qfYUQk/TSVCFtgwsCI/AAAAAAAAAEY/lxYzHiyQkME/s1600/511CWPmWr1L.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" n4="true" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/__t4p4qfYUQk/TSVCFtgwsCI/AAAAAAAAAEY/lxYzHiyQkME/s320/511CWPmWr1L.jpg" width="216" /></a></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />

She's intensely drawn to him -- but not at all crazy about the havoc he's wreaking. Determined to exorcise the demon, Dice accidentally sets Sin loose, gives him flesh, makes him formidable. Now she must destroy an even more potent -- and irresistible -- adversary, before the whole town succumbs to Sin's will. Only trouble is, she's in love with him."</span></div><div style="text-align: center;"><span style="font-size: xx-small;">from goodreads.com</span></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: left;">I really need to stop having my hopes up for a book just based on the cover. </div><div style="text-align: left;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: left;">Swoon is about a girl named Candice, Dice, who moves to Connecticut and is left alone all the time by her parents. Her aunt and cousin live across the road from her, and are the ones who look after her. Her cousin's name is Penelope or Penn as everyone calls her. She is older than Dice and dresses way different than her. </div><div style="text-align: left;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: left;">One day Dice notices something is wrong with her cousin, she starts acting different and tries to kill a boy. Dice knows she must do something before the "spirit" inside her cousin takes over completely. Of course this leads to a huge thing that almost destroys the town.</div><div style="text-align: left;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: left;">I gave Swoon 2/5 stars, because it really wasn't that great. The whole story was kinda boring, although it sounded really cool. The plot was very slow moving, and the characters were very sex centered; which was my biggest problem with the book. </div><div style="text-align: left;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: left;">I might have actually liked this book if there were more to the characters than just sex. Even though Penn was possessed, all she was concerned about was having sex. Dice couldn't help but think about having sex with the 'spirit" that possessed Penn. That was most of what the main characters were all about. When the story finally got to something more than sex, it was very boring!</div>Nikkihttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15900402595687294630noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8264520371836716476.post-13443433386845890792011-01-01T09:31:00.000-08:002011-01-01T09:31:07.260-08:002011 updateGOOD MORING!<br />
<br />
I hope y'all had a safe and happy New Years party. I have done AMAZING so far with "Get Fit in 2011",I really need to come up with a better name, However it is only 12:30. I'm gettng ready to go to Wallie World to go grocercy shopping! <br />
<br />
As far as readng. <br />
<br />
I got through a lot of Swoon, which some might consider torture! I have about 100ish pages left to read that I'll hopefully get through sometime today. <br />
<br />
Have a GREAT day!Nikkihttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15900402595687294630noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8264520371836716476.post-48300424189220657982010-12-31T09:41:00.000-08:002010-12-31T09:41:40.707-08:0050 Book Challenge & New Years ResolutionI know a lot of people are doing the 100 book challenge instead of the 50 book. However, since this is the first time I'm actually gonna attempt to do this I'll stick with the 50. Since I'm currently reading Swoon, I'm not going to count that one. Ruined by Paula Morris will be my first book.<br />
<br />
So my New Years Resoultion this year is going to lose weight, just like 90 something percent of other people. I'm going to create a different blog to keep track of that. I'm going to TRY to blog atleast twice a week, with how my week is going!<br />
<br />
I hope everyone has a SAFE & HAPPY New Years!Nikkihttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15900402595687294630noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8264520371836716476.post-20647791789974511502010-12-26T12:16:00.000-08:002010-12-26T12:16:17.656-08:00Christmas Book HaulSo I didn't get much for Christmas, but I did get some really good books.
